|Civil War Living History Event / Quilt Show / Dance||10:00 AM
|On the weekend of September 30 thru October 2nd 2011, the Utah Civil War Association will bring to Heber Valley a Civil War Living History Event which will be held at Soldier Hollow, Midway Utah
This event will begin on Friday, September 30, as “School Days” for organized public, private & charter school groups only. Later that Friday evening their will be a FREE community Civil War Dance from 7pm - 10pm held on the event site grounds of Soldier Hollow. The dance will be called by the talented Old Glory Vintage Dancers. www.OldGloryVintageDancers.com
7:00pm-10:00 pm- FREE Civil War Era Dance (Come dressed up or not, either way come dance the night away)
Saturday, October 1st, will be open to the public. There will be no admission or parking fees—this community event is completely FREE to the public. It will include encampments featuring Federal and Confederate soldiers with on going demos and lectures all day in camp from 10am - 5pm. Also, this public day will include Medical, Cavalry, Artillery, musicians and civilians along with two skirmishes between North and South. Men, women, and children will be portrayed in diverse roles with something of interest to all.
10:00- Opening ceremonies
10:30- Prepare for Battle (military drill)

11:00- Skirmish between North and South
11:30- Ladies/Civilian Fashion
12:30- Civil War Era Music
1:00- Union Cavalry Demo
1:30- Confederate Cavalry Demo and Ladies Side Saddle Demo

2:00- Prepare for Battle (military drill)
2:30- Skirmish between North and South
3:00- Artillery Demo
3:30- Ladies/Civilian Fashion
5:00- Event ends for the day
There will be a Civil War Era Quilt Display all day Saturday from 10am-5pm in the lodge. As well as viewing the quilts, you can also attend two free quilting presentations. Marlene Rapp will be presenting at 10:30 am and Sandra Starley will be presenting at 1:30. These free presentations are made possible with funding from The Utah Humanities Council. Sunday, October 2nd, to finish this wonderful weekend off we will be having a non-denominational Christian church service at 10am on Sunday, October 2nd outside. Bring blankets or chairs to sit on.
The Utah Civil War Association is a non-profit organization and has requested donations. These donations will be utilized in advertising locally and in surrounding cities, purchasing gunpowder for infantry, artillery, and prizes/awards for the Quilt Show.
