Two more administration changes occurred during the last few weeks as a new principal was selected for Midway Elementary School and an assistant principal was added at Timpanogos Intermediate School.
“After a vigorous search and interview process, I am authorized by the Board of Education to announce that effective July 1, 2011, Brian Thorne has been appointed to be the principal of Midway Elementary,” said Superintendent Terry Shoemaker. “Brian’s teaching experience was in secondary history and social sciences in a self-contained classroom with at-risk kids in Nebo School District. He taught those subjects for many years. Following that, he moved to an administrative position as an assistant principal at Springville High School and has been in that role for four years. His primary assignment at the high school is the academic progress of students. We welcome Brian to our school district and wish him well in his new assignment.”
“I also want to announce that Brett Zabel has been appointed to be the assistant principal at Timpanogos Intermediate School,” said Superintendent Shoemaker. “Brett has worked in the district for years as a high school technology teacher and as the district technology specialist. We all look forward to working with Brett and wish him well in his new assignment.”
