Concert In the Park July 28 2011
|Last Thursday’s Concert with the Rock Dogs was one of the best all season. Dave Spencer and the Rock Dogs put on an excellent show including music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The band has come together well in the last year and it shows in the quality of their performance. Hopefully they will be back next year to entertain us again.
Next week we welcome back Harry Lee and the Back Alley Blues Band, Harry has been entertaining in Utah and all over the west his entire adult life.
This will be their third appearance at the Heber Valley stage, they last played here in 2009, they are always a big hit with the local crowd. Harry Lee and the Back Alley Blues Band are a veterans of the Salt Lake City blues scene who will stage a 90-minute tribute to American roots blues music in two sets with an intermission. Mr. Lee, backed by guitar, bass and drums will perform classic blues favorites by Elmore James, James Cotton, Muddy Waters, Harmonica Slim and more. Harry Lee and the band joined together 18 years ago under the moniker "The Part Timers" to host a Sunday Blues jam at The Old Bottling House. Since then the band has been playing all over the Wasatch front and back. The Back Alley Blues Band was formed when Harry struck out from the jam to entertain under his own flag. The Current members of the band include: Harry Lee on Harmonica, Michael Ricks on Bass, Mitch Olson on Guitar and Gene Young on the Drums.
