HEBER VALLEY, UTAH (Aug. 4, 2011) — The Heber Valley Railroad today announced the opening of its Wilderness Zip Line Adventure, a unique partnership excursion that adds speed to the rail experience. The zip line tour wraps excitement, nature and family fun in a package providing thrill seekers with stunning views of the Provo River as they zip down the dual-cable line.
“We are always looking for new ways to experience the Heber Valley Railroad offerings,” said executive director Craig Lacey. “This adventure is more than a ride — it’s a wilderness experience on a zip line unlike any other in the state.”
The Wilderness Zip Line Adventure begins with a scenic train ride meandering through the green pastures of Heber Valley. While on board, riders will encounter Black Jack Raven and a Western train robbery before enjoying a gourmet boxed lunch aboard the train. The excursion will then continue along Deer Creek Reservoir to the zip line drop-off, where riders will experience four different zip lines totaling more than 3,000 feet along the Provo River.
