***Work will stop temporarily this weekend for the Ragnar Relay Race and will resume on Monday, June 18.***
6/14/2012 Week Look Ahead:
Midway Main Street
On Monday, June 18 crews are scheduled to remove additional asphalt on Midway Main St. and begin paving operations. This next phase of work on Main St. is expected to take 2-3 days to complete. Construction will take place on one side of the road at a time so traffic will be shifted to allow crews room to work. One lane in each direction will be maintained and business accesses will also be open during this work. After July 4, crews will need to return to the area to install a final layer of asphalt on the road.
Midway Lane/Heber Area
Asphalt removal from 300 E. in Midway to 600 W. in Heber started yesterday and is scheduled to be complete by the end of this week. The installation of the new pavement in this area is scheduled to start the middle of next week. The road will be reduced to one lane with flaggers present to direct traffic. Drivers can expect 10-15 minute delays during the work, please plan for extra drive time. Access to area businesses will be maintained but some congestion through this section is likely.
Crews have started the installation of the underground culinary water line between 500 W. and 600 W. in Heber. This work will continue next week. Property owners and businesses between 500 W. and 600 W. will experience intermittent water shuts off as this work occurs. Thru traffic is encouraged to seek alternate routes and follow posted detour signs.
Next week, crews are scheduled to continue installing the improvements for the properties along 100 S. between 300 W. and 500 W. Access will be limited and drivers are encouraged to park on side streets. The project team has coordinated directly with business and property owners in this area about the impacts.
Crews continue the installation of an underground fiber optic cable along the south side of the road in the curb and gutter area between 500 W. and 600 W. next week. This underground line will help with traffic management. This is being done on the side of the road and should not impact traffic.
