S.R. 113; Heber to Midway 6/22/2012 Week Look Ahead

Updated project photos are now available. Click here to view them.

Midway Main Street

  • The current phase of asphalt paving is scheduled to be complete by today on Midway Main St. Crews are scheduled to return and apply the final asphalt layer for Main St. after the July 4th week. When that final phase begins, construction will take place on one side of the road at a time so traffic will be shifted to allow crews room to work. One lane in each direction will be maintained and business accesses will also be open during this work.

Midway Lane/Heber Area

  • The asphalt between 300 E. in Midway to 600 W. in Heber has been removed and crews are scheduled to start asphalt paving operations today in this area. Work is planned to take place through the weekend in order to complete as much of the paving as possible. To allow room for crews to work, the road will be reduced to one lane with flaggers present to direct traffic. Drivers can expect 10-15 minute delays so please plan for extra drive time when traveling through this area. Access to area businesses will be maintained but some congestion through this section is likely.
  • Crews have installed the underground culinary water line between 500 W. and 600 W. in Heber and testing of the new line is scheduled for early next week. After testing is complete, crews will level the road to prepare it for paving. It is anticipated that this block will be open to thru traffic at the end of next week. Property owners and businesses between 500 W. and 600 W. will experience intermittent water shuts off as this work occurs. Thru traffic is encouraged to seek alternate routes and follow posted detour signs.
  • Crews will begin patching portions of the asphalt between Heber Main St. and 500 W. in Heber next week to prepare 100 S. for paving. This work will take place on various parts of the road in this area. One lane in each direction will remain open in this area but drivers can expect increased truck traffic intermittently as this work occurs.
  • The installation of an underground fiber optic cable along the south side of the road in the curb and gutter area between 500 W. and 600 W. is now complete. This underground line will help with traffic management.

Other Projects in the Area

  • Work to repair the concrete on U.S. 40 and U.S. 189 near the mouth of Provo Canyon is underway. For questions on the U.S. 40 Wasatch Summit County Line or Provo Canyon Concrete Rehab Projects, please contact Cameron Erickson at (801) 227-8006.
