Concert in the park The Bar Fly Wranglers (aka Block and Tackle)
|Last week’s performance of The Bar Fly Wranglers, who have informed me that they are now going to be known by the name Block and Tackle, was everything the almost 2000 fans who showed up expected. Buffalo, Jolly & Tommy acquired Thomas a bass player and a steel guitar player named Steve who put together some very incredible licks in a very comfortable setting. Great job Block and Tackle!
This week we have a trio of excellent singers who are returning to the Ambank Heber Valley Concerts in the Park series for the fifth year in a row, Mister Sister. Sisters Nina and Bradey grew up here in Heber Valley, Nina’s son just graduated from Wasatch High School last year. Dan Hall is from Coalville, just another example of the fine musicians that come from the Wasatch Back! Nina Oyler and Brady Chavez are sisters with amazing voices that complement, in a uniquely sibling way, yet they each have their own style and presence. Dan Hall brings years of experiences as a solo performer and in bands across the intermountain west. His Accumulated style, rhythm and vocals fit like a glove with the “the sisters”. The resulting harmonics make the hair stand up on the back of your neck and the versatility keeps things interesting. Nina & Brady have spent their lives singing together and now get to share their special blend ……
While Dan get to go back to his acoustic roots. Mister Sister performs songs from Peter Paul & Mary to Ani D’Franco and from James Taylor to the Judds. From Crosby Stills and Nash to KT Tunstall, and the Beatles to Alison Krause… as well as a growing list of originals. Many you’ll know, some you won’t, but, all will make you smile and be glad you saw one of the Wasatch Back’s best acoustic acts. Come on out Thursday evening and join the fun, the Farmers Market begins at 4:00 and the music begins at 6:30. Thanks this week to our co-sponsor Wasatch Physical Therapy and host Matt Heimburger for helping put on this wonderful weekly community event.
